SCHEDULE: Weekdays, 30 hours per week.

SUMMARY:

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides professional anesthesia care through assessment, planning, treatment, and evaluation of the patient. The CRNA is responsible for delivering safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, educative, and individualized nursing care to patients and families.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs patient preparation, including but not limited to review of medical history, acquisition of appropriate consents, administering medications, and setting up appropriate equipment Assists in relieving patient’s apprehension before and during administration of IV sedation or anesthesia.

  • Verifies that essential equipment is functioning properly each day.
  • Evaluates pertinent diagnostic studies.
  • Selects, obtains, orders and administers pre-anesthetic medications.
  • Documents the pre-anesthetic evaluation and obtains comprehensive informed consent for anesthesia and related services.
  • Administers IV Conscious Sedation.
  • Administers Moderate Sedation.
  • Administers Total Intravenous Sedation.
  • Administers Local Anesthesia.
  • Administers General Anesthesia.
  • Administration of sedating agents with Monitored Anesthesia Care.
  • Administration of Propofol or any sedative, hypnotic or analgesic drug that does not have a reversible agent.
  • Obtains and maintains airway and respiratory functions.
  • Administers Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and advanced life support as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate of an accredited/approved CRNA – Master’s program
  • Holds active/current Registered Nurse license issued by the State AND certification as a CRNA from an approved national accrediting organization.
  • Three years + years clinical experience in surgery or procedure healthcare including demonstrated knowledge of sterile technique, working with anesthetized patients, and other clinical situations found in a surgical or procedural setting.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment impacting ASC’s, and the applicable standards of the AAAHC, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory bodies for ambulatory surgery centers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with physicians and all medical professionals.
  • Current certification in CPR and ACLS.

The Grand Junction Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Center, an outpatient procedure facility, opened in 2004 to provide our patients with the latest in technology and high-quality service in a convenient and friendly environment.

We are the largest gastroenterology group serving western Colorado, southwestern Wyoming and eastern Utah. Our staff currently includes five board certified Gastroenterologists, two Physician Assistants and over 40 employees. Our goal is to provide our patients, referring physicians and the surrounding community with the best, most comprehensive, and the highest quality of care possible.

Surrounding Grand Junction is Grand Mesa and Powderhorn Ski Resort to the east; the Colorado National Monument and Grand Canyon to the west; lush agriculture to the south supplying more than 20 Grand Valley wineries and local farmer’s markets; and Book Cliffs to the north. The Colorado River flows through the city offering sections of class-IV rapids.

 

Downtown Grand Junction is filled with many local businesses, art galleries, boutiques and shops, and a variety of restaurants — many with charming sidewalk dining. Main Street also features one of the nation’s largest outdoor-sculpture collections, with more than 100 pieces of art lining the sidewalks.

 

Other attractions include several fine local golf courses and biking trails are available year-round with a much milder climate in comparison to other areas of Colorado. Aspen and Telluride are approximately a 2-hour commute. Denver and Salt Lake City are within 4 hours.
